Here is a quick visual which presents an overview, and this will need a bit further development with text sources added to back up the points. I've oriented this into "actionable" aspects which is a simplified o overview for those who are new to the study of Epicurean philosophy.

As for point number 3, in ancient times this would have been seen as very important. Now in modern times our social connects are fragmented and undeveloped.

Kalosyni, I think it's great. I tested it on my Facebook with a private post, and the dimensions seemed to work well. I think it's a useful tool for introducing the philosophy to others.

My only hesitation has to do with the color scheme. I had my computer in inverted colors mode when I first saw this, and in that mode it displays white lettering on a blue background. I thought it looked fantastic. Later, I switched to regular mode and I wasn't as delighted with the black on yellow. These are subjective preferences, of course, but I think for social media especially it's good to have more visual "pop."

I took a photo of the blue backdrop version:

It is very helpful to develop many different versions of these graphics as a way of making them better and better and we want to encourage that.

At the same time, we have to be careful of overwhelming the web structure with lots of large MB graphics.

Please try to generate everything as JPGS that are 250k or less. For those that get to be super-well-refined we can find a plave (or store here) mult-megabyte versions.

There are art websites, free storage locations, etc that can be used for this. Anyone who has experience with that or who wants to take the lead in finding locations where files can be stored and then we LINK to them - which is optimal - please let us know and we'll make sure those instructions are easy to find and follow.

I added this to the second image: "What is pleasurable is defined as any feeling which is free from pain, since through philosophical reasoning we come to see that there is no neutral feeling state that exists. Types of pleasure range from removal of pain, to replenishment, and to variations of enjoyable sensations."

And I need to add mental pleasures to this list as well.

    Kalosyni ,

Thanks for this nice introductory 3-point image. I like how you simplify each step. From my perspective of attempting to introduce the Epicurean philosophy to younger people, I would rearrange and show your #2 (II.) as the first (I.) step.

“Making wise, prudent and pleasurable choices.”

By introducing the Epicurean decision making ‘choice & avoidance’ framework first, you are identifying a very valuable tool to help young adults to examine the natural causes of events and make prudent decisions that help them find more net pleasure and live a pleasant life.

BTW, black letter on a light color background is easier to read for my old eyes, but the white on blue does “pop”, which grabs attention for younger eyes. Keep the image large enough to read as It may be harder to read if viewing on a phone web browser.

    Love the idea and effort!

    Patrikios
