Thank you for the warm welcome.
I am beginning my journey regarding Epicurean thought; interestingly, after getting to know more about the same, I realize that I have always held beliefs and attitudes that seem in accord with what knowledge I am gaining through my pursuit. This observation reinforces my -feeling-that Epicurean thought is a natural condition, for humans, and most likely all animals; all mammals for sure. Just ask my cat!
I look forward to gaining a greater understanding from this website; this should provide "pleasure"....
Cheers from Canada.

Exactly Amnoz! All we have to do is ask our animals and they will tell us, because they are unpolluted and unperverted!
Torquatus in On Ends: "If then the doctrine I have set forth is clearer and more luminous than daylight itself; if it is derived entirely from Nature's source; if my whole discourse relies throughout for confirmation on the unbiased and unimpeachable evidence of the senses; if lisping infants, nay even dumb animals, prompted by Nature's teaching, almost find voice to proclaim that there is no welfare but pleasure, no hardship but pain—and their judgment in these matters is neither sophisticated nor biased—ought we not to feel the greatest gratitude to him who caught this utterance of Nature's voice, and grasped its import so firmly and so fully that he has guided all sane-minded men into the paths of peace and happiness, calmness and repose?"And greetings to you from the USA!
I need to add to my opening welcomes -- can you let us know how you found the forum? We're constantly looking for ways to get the word out more efficiently, so it would be helpful to know how you found us. -
Thank you for the detailed response, Cassius.
I found your sight, via a web search; I am taking a course about the Foundations of Western History, (The Great Courses), and Epicurus was discussed, leading to my interest in knowing more about Epicurean thought.
I look forward to gaining greater insights, and appreciate your site, very much.
I am an artist, and I have attached an image of a work, that is related to my Roman/Greek ancestry on my Father's side. It's titled: Growing up Italian-Canadian.
Cheers!

WOW that is great! Thank you for posting that and feel free to post anything similar because as you can tell I (at least) believe that our GrecoRoman heritage is directly related to Epicurean philosophy. We look forward to getting to know you better!

Very humanist of you
to create art based on the classical ideal, taking the human body as the measure. Cheers.
