Thank you for your welcome.
Thank you for your welcome.
Thank you for accepting me the forum.
It won't take long to describe who I am.
I am not a philosopher, nor a scholar of any sort. Just a photographer whose career started at archaeology (Egypt, Sudan, Cyprus) in the eighties, and carried me through diverse photographic interests, to the architectural photography here in New York City. As it's easily accessible at my website JMK-Gallery.com (linked only as an sorce of the explanation of the profile).
I have a very superficial knowledge about Epicurus and his philosophy - but what made me getting interested in it is that it fits the way I have been trying to live my life. I have always rejected 'personal Gods' and supernatural influences, for example.
I will commit time to get more information, and to make sure that my understanding of aponia and ataraxia doesn't put me in a wrong place according to the forum rules.
But before I start talking, I will listen.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
