The farewell “τοῦ Χαίρειν Εὖ πράττειν καὶ Σπουδαίως ζῆν" strikes me as an Epicurean version of Spock's phrase, "Live long and Prosper".
TOY XAIPEIN EY ΠPATTEIN KAI ΣΠOYΔAIΩΣ ZHN.
TOY XAIPEIN EY ΠPATTEIN (toû khaírein eû práttein like “too KYE-rain yew PRAT-tain)
“Prosper” (Bailey)
“May you do well” (Hicks, Anderson)
“May you act well” (Yonge)
"Do Well" (Mensch"
"Rejoice" (White)
KAI
καὶ = and
ΣΠOYΔAIΩΣ ZHN (spoudaíōs zên like “spoo-DIE-oss ZEN)
“Live Well” (Anderson, Bailey, Hicks, Mensch)
“[May you] live virtuously” (Yonge)
"Live excellently" (White)
(I tend to associate Vulcans with Stoics in a very explicit way, but Spock's farewell tickled my fancy, so to speak)
