Elayne,
I have had interactions with our local atheist, aka the radical Objectivist, on why Epicurus is "weak"...He is all Rand and Aristotle...

Elayne,
I have had interactions with our local atheist, aka the radical Objectivist, on why Epicurus is "weak"...He is all Rand and Aristotle...
Ok,
True story. I read Plato. I vomited. He made me physically ill. I have an aversion to Plato.
The cave thing sounds like a bad acid trip.
Very Helpful.
In trying to live unknown, I am minimizing my time at Social media sites, and I have unplugged from politics. I have discovered I find much pleasure in eating a simple apple, and smelling the fresh air. I also find much joy in animals. Even my marriage has become a pleasure. I hope to continue to learn more from this.
Thanks again for the warm greetings.
I am glad to be here. I hope to learn as much as possible.
Salvete Omnes!
I am a 38 year old history teacher that is trying very hard to live a life in accordance to nature. The Stoics and Platonists got to me, and then I discovered Epicurus. Epicurus makes sense. With Epicurus, I find myself at ease. I am learning, and I tend to listen to my teachers and soak in their wisdom. Deprogramming and reprogramming takes awhile so bear with me,
With gratitude,
Brad
