I'll stand behind my paraphrasing: I think it's fairly accurate.

Surely, each point deserves its own book, but, in a few words, I think this provides a fair comparison.

That is a great chart Eikadistes! I made a list of your "What should I do" column:

Pythagorean - live harmoniously by studying math
Socratic - live conscientiously by examination
Atomist - live cheerfully despite your fate
Cynic - live honestly, simply, and shamelessly
Cyreniac - live in the moment by indulging pleasure
Academic - recall the universal idea of the Good
Paripatetic - live excellently by the Golden Mean
Skeptic - live tranquilly by suspending judgment
Epicurean - live pleasantly by cultivating friendship
Stoic - live virtuously by observing reason
Christian - live righteously by loving God

I agree with Bryan. I am fighting a power outage and haven't had time to read through this in detail but I love the format and what I see so far looks great! I wonder what the best way we might find to link to this so that it is most viewable(?) No doubt on a small screen zooming in and out will be required, but on a larger screen maybe we can provide a link that immediately goes to a full page view. Anyway can figure out that later. Lots of hard work went into this one for sure so thanks for sharing!

I actually made seven, individual, square panels that show each of (x5) philosophies at a time for viewability. I didn't necessarily want to throw all seven up in the gallery, but that might be best?

(I threw them up in the gallery, just in case)

Also! How was the storm? The East Coast of FL was spared almost entirely.

Finding Things At EpicureanFriends.com

Here is a list of suggested search strategies:

  • Website Overview page - clickable links arrranged by cards.
  • Forum Main Page - list of forums and subforums arranged by topic. Threads are posted according to relevant topics. The "Uncategorized subforum" contains threads which do not fall into any existing topic (also contains older "unfiled" threads which will soon be moved).
  • Search Tool - icon is located on the top right of every page. Note that the search box asks you what section of the forum you'd like to search. If you don't know, select "Everywhere."
  • Search By Key Tags - curated to show frequently-searched topics.
  • Full Tag List - an alphabetical list of all tags.
