(2) Nietzsche's relationship to Epicureanism
Welcome! Have you read Nietzsche and Epicurus by Vinod Acharya? I can share a copy if you haven't.
I also keep a collection of Nietzsche's commentary on Epicurus:
Please let me know of or find excerpts that are missing! I'm actively searching.
Hi Eikadistes, thank you for the welcome. Actually a couple of weeks ago I read two chapters from the edited volume "Nietzsche and Epicurus," A great resource. I plan to read some more soon. You have as great looking website, which i plan to expore in more depth!
Glad to have you Zarathustra. All of the topics you mentioned are of great interest here. I personally am among those most interested in the Nietzsche relationship, but I'm no expert on Nietzsche so I'm of limited use other than in being convinced that there's a fascinating relationship. I think I'll tag Elli in Thessaloniki in this comment as I know she has shared my interest in that for many years. She introduced me to a Greek writer by the name of Liantinis who is related to this interest.

Thank you Cassius.
Good day everyone,
Thank you for the introduction Cassius, and thank you for letting me join the group. As Cassius mentioned my intrest in Epicureanism started when I had to write a book chapter for an edited volume titled the Oxford Handbook of Philosophy as a Way of Life. My chapter was about the relationship between psychotherapy and philosophy as a way of life. In my research of the Hellenistic philosophies I had an oppertunity to read more about Epicureanism. There are several aspects of this philosohy that I find of intrest (1) the notion of the Epicrurean garden (and philosophical friendship) (2) Nietzsche's relationship to Epicureanism (3) it's view of supernatural beliefs and absolute virtues. Out of all the various philosophies and philosophers that have promoted the notion of philosophy as a way of life I seem to feel the most affinity for Epicurean philosophy. So I am here to learn more from others, thank you.
