This subforum has two goals: (1) to improve your understanding of your own ideas, and (2) to improve your understanding of Epicurean philosophy. Just as Thomas Jefferson did, you should first be able to list out the ideas of Epicurus in a form that shows that you understand them. That doesn't mean that your first list constitutes your personal manifesto of what you believe any more than Jefferson's meant that Jefferson himself always believed every statement in the list. Therefore as you add your outline here, the first goal is to state accurately what Epicurus held. if you choose, you might then compose a second outline listing your own variations. Clarity in the first type of outline is an essential step toward clarity in the second.
