Arguments Against Pleasure By Other Philosophers At The Time of Epicurus

Many Epicurean Doctrines cannot be adequately understood without knowledge of the logical attacks on pleasure which Epicurus faced when he developed his philosophy. Many of these can be found in Plato's Philebus, but others are scattered in other writers, as explored by Gosling & Taylor's "The Greeks On Pleasure."
