I would vote for Wallace. It's not perfect, but I think it's the only one with "incorruptible" and with "favor" instead of "gratitude".

Don you might add "won by gifts" and "obligation" to the "favor" brew....

I actually like "the". 1) Epicurus maintained that gods do exist. 2) With an idealist interpretation of the gods, the implication of "the" is that such a condition is achievable. "A" somehow seems watered down to me.
